Registration for the APEX Essentials Workshop is now open!
The APEX Essentials Workshop is a 2-day interactive, instructor-led educational workshop that provides participants with a clear understanding of key asphalt concepts, terminology, processes, and best practices. The workshop blends practical explanations with real-world examples, making it easier for attendees to connect the dots between their daily tasks and the larger asphalt lifecycle. Whether participants are new to the asphalt world or looking to refresh their knowledge, the Essentials Workshop builds confidence and ensures everyone is speaking the same technical language. TxDOT’s APEX program is a new knowledge-sharing and partnering initiative seeking to connect industry leading resources and tools to asphalt pavement professionals across the state.
Together we can assure the quality, safety, and longevity of Texas roads by providing high quality, more durable asphalt pavements.

Tried and true existing techniques and cutting-edge technologies must be implemented faster across an industry and state as large as ours. Also, in this changing workforce, the need to spread this information quickly and accurately is more important now than ever.
Presently, we share information between individuals and teams, but there is no central source collecting, curating, and distributing this information to everyone who needs it. This APEX “Hub” has been designed to solve this issue and connect everyone to the best practices in our evolving field.
APEX aims to develop a continuously improved asphalt pavement education program. We are collaborating closely with subject matter experts to create varied materials for TxDOT and industry professionals across the state to benefit from.
